The Tour of Destruction maintains the authority to amend, modify, and/or rescind rules as deemed necessary to ensure safety, foster fair competition, or address other relevant considerations. Any revisions will be accompanied by the date indicating when the rule was added or adjusted. Please check rules before and any every event to be sure of updated.

Driver Rules:

  1. Drivers must be at least 18 years of age to race.

  2. No passengers are allowed.

  3. Attendance at the pre-race drivers' meeting is mandatory.

  4. All Full Face helmets, firesuits, and skid plates must be shown at tech for review.

  5. Drivers must sign a liability waiver.

  6. Drivers are required to adhere to both the general event rules and specific race regulations.

  7. Transponder rental is required ($10 for each car).

  8. Transponders must be securely fastened to the car; officials at tech will provide instructions for installation if needed.

  9. Transponders must be returned at location posted at check in / sign in.

  10. Drivers will be required to pay for any lost, damaged, or unreturned transponders ($200 replacement fee).

  11. Drivers will not be permitted to race at future events without the return of a checked out transponder.

  12. All cars require a transponder unless only participating in the demolition derby.

  13. All cars must display a number (no running names only allowed).

  14. All drivers need a pit & race band to enter the track.

  15. Payout will only be given to the driver.

  16. Payout will not be given if you did not register.

  17. No crude, obscene, or offensive paint jobs are allowed.

  18. Unsportsmanlike conduct may lead to suspension/ban.

  19. Unsportsmanlike conduct includes any act of aggression on the track, live in-person, or online directed towards another driver, track, or official.

  20. Reckless driving in the pits may lead to suspension/ban.

  21. Alcohol is not permitted in the pits during or before the start time (will result in removal).

Protection Rules:

  1. Full-face helmets with shields are mandatory.

  2. Full fire suits are mandatory.

  3. Seatbelts are mandatory and must be worn at all times.

  4. A roll cage is recommended but not required.

  5. Windshield/windshield protection is mandatory; if removed, it must be replaced with metal protective bars approved by tech.

  6. Front seat and dashboard can remain inside the car.

  7. Rear seat bar post to post is allowed.

  8. The battery can be relocated but must be in a battery box mounted to the floor (no ratchet straps).

  9. Any relocated battery must also be covered.

  10. All broken glass and interior parts must be cleaned out of all cars.

  11. Driver's side and passenger side airbags must be removed.

  12. Door panels, rear seat, headliner, and carpet must all be removed.

  13. Removal of all exterior lights and body moldings is required.

  14. No convertibles or open-top sunroof cars.

  15. Sunroofs must be fully covered with sheet metal and approved by tech.

  16. No plastic door Saturns or any other plastic door cars.

  17. No crude or offensive words or lettering.

  18. Driver’s door bar is recommended.

  19. Competitors should not leave the tow vehicle's cockpit unless on fire or instructed to do so by a track official.

General Driver Regulations:

  1. Officials reserve the right to approve or reject any entry.

  2. Disobeying the rules will cause a driver to be disqualified.

  3. Drivers are responsible for the actions of themselves and crew members.

  4. Drivers and crew are responsible for any damages caused by their negligence on the track or in the pit area.

  5. All cars must register 30 minutes before the event start time.

  6. In case of a fire, wait for the red lights to come on to stop the cars for a safe exit.

  7. Drivers must remain in their vehicles throughout the event until the checkered flag.

  8. Drivers are required to stay with their vehicles at all times. It is imperative not to abandon your car unattended on the track.

  9. Tire weights and hubcaps must be removed.

  10. Any highway tire tread is permitted (no v-tread).

  11. All wheel weights must be removed.

  12. All cars must be swept clean.

  13. No junk tires, wheels, metal parts, broken glass, etc., are allowed in the car.

  14. All drivers and crews are responsible for picking up trash, automobile parts, scrap metal, tires, etc., from their car.

  15. Must wear a seat belt at all times while on the track.

  16. Car numbers are required for scoring and payouts.

  17. Must have large numbers (clear) on the roof and both sides of the car.

  18. No vulgar writing on cars.

  19. DOT tires only.

  20. Trailer hitches must be removed unless you are running the trailer race.

  21. Two holes must be cut in the hood (6” x 5”).

  22. No hitting the car in the driver’s door in any and all events.

Flags:

  • Green: Go

  • Red: Stop

  • Black: You are done

  • White: Last Lap

  • Checkered: Winner has finished the race


VEHICLE

  1. No convertibles

  2. Dot tires only

  3. No superchargers

  4. No turbos

  5. No all-wheel drive

  6. Must be a stock build

Enduro 2024 Claim Rule:

  1. Beginning in the 2024 season, we will implement claiming rules to foster inclusivity. In this division, no specific make or model will be restricted, aligning with our goal to maintain an entertaining and balanced class.

  2. Upon securing victory, any winning car becomes eligible for claiming by either the promotion or another top 5 driver. The initial right to claim the winning car belongs to the promotion. Should the promotion choose not to claim the car, it becomes available for the 2nd-5th place drivers to claim.

  3. When a winning car is claimed, the promotion allows the driver to remove all gear. Furthermore, the claimed car will be dismantled by the promotion that night.

  4. If another driver claims the car, they are granted permission to race it.

  5. As an additional incentive, a $100 bonus will be granted to any non-Acura winner.

  6. Any winning car returning to the next race will start 10 feet past the start-finish line, effectively placing it almost a lap down.

  7. ($1,400) will be the price of any winning car that is claimed

  8. If the winner's car gets claimed, the winning driver also gets the persons car they had claimed (winners swap) and the ($1,400) . (*Updated the work can with gets*)

  9. The time frame to claim the winning car is 15 minutes from the end of the race (must buy the winner's car with cash on hand).

  10. Winner must return to the tech area after the end of the race to start the 15 minute claim period.

  11. If the winning driver does not give up their claimed car, they will be issued a disqualification (DQ), a 1-race suspension, and receive no payout or points for that racing event.

  12. Any winner's car that is claimed but refused sale cannot compete in any other races or at any Tour of Destruction event (other than the demolition derby).

  13. Second place will be given first place if the winning driver denies the claim or is issued a DQ


VEHICLE

FRONT WHEEL DRIVE 80’S AND UP (4 & 6 CYL. ONLY) - STOCK DEMOLITION DERBY

  • This is a stock demolition derby.

  • Tires

    • Any DOT or trailer tires allowed; any rubber tire can be used. No tire flaps

    • Tubes (OK), Donuts (OK).

    • No skid steer, foam-filled, bobcat, snow tires allowed.

  • Bumpers

    • Fresh cars must be stock only, no swaps, no welding.

    • Bumper covers must be removed.

    • No bumper changeouts or replacements on fresh cars.

    • Bumper swap can only be done on pre-run cars

    • Bumper swap on pre-run cars must be from around the same year (5 years window)

    • Bumper swap can only be bolted on

    • No pre-bending

  • Suspension

    • Must be stock, no welding, no raising car height.

  • Frame

    • Must be stock.

  • Battery

    • Can be moved in the car but must be secured and covered.

  • Interior

    • Everything but the dashboard and front seat needs to be removed.

    • No glass in doors or trunk of the car.

    • Windshield can remain unless it has major cracks. If removed, you must weld or bolt bars on the driver's side from the top of the roof to the cowl.

    • Airbags must be taken out; carpet, headliner, and door panels must be removed.

    • Doors – All glass must be removed. Driver's door needs to have some padding (you can use seat foam from the rear seat).

    • Doors can be welded or chained shut. Door plate may not exceed 4 on each door: length 7”, width 4”, no foam anywhere but around the battery or computer and coil pack.

    • Only welding that can be done is what is stated here.

    • No aftermarket or making any part for your derby car.

    • You can replace the car shifter.

    • Driver's Door

      • Door bar (OK).

      • Seat bar (OK).

      • Painting driver door white is strongly recommended.

    • Cage OK (cannot be welded to the floor for reinforcement).

    • Interior must be fully gutted and clean (no glass, no carpet).

    • Four plates length 7”, width 4” per seam on doors or chains 2 per door (you can use 9 wire instead of chain).

    • Trunk

      • 4 plates length 7”, width 4” or 4 chains (2 on each side).

    • Hood

      • 7 inch x 7 inch hole needs to be cut, can be chained in four spots (2 on each side) or wired down.

      • 4 chains or 4 points 9 wire or weld 2 pc 2”x2” angle (nothing else added).

      • All thread can only be used to hold chains together.

    • Numbers must be fully on the roof 4 ft. x 4 ft and both sides of the car as big as possible.

PROTECTION

  • Drivers Door

    • Must be painted white.

  • Drivers Door bars / protection is highly recommended.

  • Seat Bars are permitted.

  • Rollover bars are permitted.

  • Participants are responsible for the effectiveness of their personal safety equipment; the track or event is not liable.

RULES

  • The derby will start with a countdown.

  • You are only permitted to make contact during a green flag.

  • The final driver to make contact is the winner of the event.

  • Drivers are required to make contact.

  • Drivers who do not make contact every 60 seconds may become eligible for a DQ.

  • A Driver sitting for over 90 seconds may become eligible for a DQ.

  • Drivers are only permitted to make contact with other active drivers.

  • When the derby enters the final stages (4 cars left), all drivers are expected to make contact with each other.

  • A car will be given extra time if stuck or actively trying to make contact / restart.

  • Contact outside of the derby area will result in a DQ.

  • Driver door hits are not permitted (on active or stopped cars).

    • Unintended hits on the door will be given 1 warning.

    • 2 unintended hits will be given a DQ.

    • Intentional hits on the driver's door will result in a DQ and suspension.

  • Drivers are not permitted to use the driver's door as a defense.

  • You will be eligible for a DQ if seen placing your door open to contact.

  • A flag is to be attached above the driver’s door and be accessible to the driver. When a driver wishes to surrender, or car stops running they should snap the flag down. Driver’s doing this cannot re-enter the event.

  • Derby will take place in a boxed-in closed area.

  • You are not permitted to leave this area during the event.

  • If you go outside of the derby area, you may be black-flagged.

  • If you are pushed or find yourself outside the derby area, look for flags, drive slowly, and return.

  • Drivers that do not stop during a red flag may receive a DQ or suspension.

  • If a driver is black-flagged, they are required to stop.

  • Any drivers ignoring the black flag will receive a suspension.

  • Any driver putting the safety of other drivers and officals at risk may be black-flagged, suspended or banned from the event.

  • The officials reserve the right to disqualify any driver at any time.

  • The officials' decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

  • By entering the Derby, you agree to the general rules and event regulations.

  1. Team Structure:

    • Each team consists of three cars.

  2. Roles:

    • One car serves as the "Blocker," allowed to make contact with pushers and other blockers.

    • Another car serves as the "Pusher," responsible for pushing the “puck” car around the track.

    • Blockers and pushers can switch roles during the event.

    • The “Puck” car can only make contact with other “Puck” cars

  3. Contact Rules:

    • Blockers are prohibited from making contact with other teams' puck cars; contact is limited to pushers and other blockers.

  4. Puck Car Requirements:

    • The puck car must be painted white.

  5. Team Identification:

    • Both the blocker and pusher must have a team color stripe for easy identification.

  6. Engine Limitations:

    • Push cars cannot be running during the event; they must rely on the pushing force from the designated pusher.

  7. Team Requirement:

    • To compete, each team must have three cars.

  8. Scoring:

    • Only the puck car is eligible for scoring.

  9. Track Boundaries:

    • The puck car and pusher must remain on the track surface during the event.

  10. Blocking Strategies:

    • Blockers can cut the track and wait on the track for other teams strategically.

  11. Point Series Requirement:

    • For the point series, teams must have two of their original members running, with only one substitute allowed.

VEHICLE

  • Any and all cars that fit the general rules may run this event.

RULES

  • Drivers are required to make a modified lap circling around a roundabout obstacle.

  • Any driver who skips or does not circle the roundabout (flag pole) will be issued a DQ.

  • Drivers must stay on the track surface unless completing the flagpole turn.

  • Deliberate contact is not permitted for this race event.

  • Cars must come into the flagpole at a safe rate of speed so as not to hit other drivers.

  • The winner will be the driver who completes the given laps the fastest.

VEHICLE

  • All full-size tow vehicles are permitted, including cars, ¾ ton or smaller pickup trucks, SUVs, vans, etc. Convertibles are not allowed.

  • No aluminum boats / jet skis / canoes / cut down boats (Wood and fiberglass boats only).

  • Jack handles on trailers must be removed.

  • Prohibited: Cutting down any part of the boat or camper to make them smaller or lighter.

  • Boats and Campers must display the car number.

  • Tow vehicles must be stripped of all glass; a screen over the driver's side is required if the windshield is removed.

  • Lift kits or suspension alterations are not permitted.

  • Airbags must be disconnected if present.

  • Chain must not exceed 5 feet.

  • Tow vehicles must display a one or two-digit number on both sides of the car for identification.

  • While not mandatory, a roll cage or roll protection is strongly recommended.

  • All cars must be inspected at tech before the event.

 

TRAILER ELIGIBILITY STANDARDS

  • Trailers must have a minimum length of 10 feet measured from the hitch ball socket.

  • Suggested trailers include travel trailers, pop-up tent campers, full campers, and boat trailers.

  • Glass must be removed from towed objects.

  • Campers must be emptied of all non-permanent items.

  • Boats must be gutted, with no motors, fuel tanks, or outdrives allowed.

  • Boat must be at minimum 11 ft. long without being cut down (ADDED 3/12)

  • While creativity, including mascots, decorations, or advertising, is allowed, disqualification may result from inappropriate content.

  • No suggestive language or symbols are allowed on vehicles.

RULES

  • You must start with your entire boat and camper attached.

  • You must keep your boat / camper on to be eligible for the win.

  • You must have a 3-foot part of the camper to be eligible for the win.

  • You must have your entire boat left to be eligible for the win.

  • If your camper is damaged but the frame / trailer is still attached, continue racing but you may be ineligible for the win.

  • If the trailer frame completely detaches from the tow vehicle, disqualification occurs.

  • Vehicle-to-vehicle hits are prohibited; participants must hit the trailer only.

  • If your trailer poses a safety issue or damages the track, you will receive a black flag.

  • Failure to stop during a black flag will result in no payout for the night and may lead to a suspension, which could carry over.

VEHICLE

  • Any and all cars that fit the general rules may run this event.

  • You can run racing tires in this event(Hoosiers).

  • Both cars must have a drivetrain.

  • The motor must still be in the pulled car.

  • The chain must be a minimum length of 5 feet.

RULES

  • Drivers are required to run this event chained to another driver's car in a tow behind format

  • Drivers must stay on the track surface.

  • Pull car's engine needs to be off and remain off throughout the event

  • A team will be disqualified if the second car is running at any time through the race

  • If the chain breaks, cars are done; you must pull off into a safe area on the track, and you will no longer be scored for the event.

  • The winning team will be the team who completes the given laps the fastest still chained together.

VEHICLE

  • Any and all cars that fit the general rules may run this event.

  • Must be front-wheel drive.

  • Skids must go through tech and be checked.

  • Skids must have a beveled edge.

  • Skids' size cannot go outside of the wheel well of the car both width & length.

RULES

  • Drivers are required to run skids in this event on the back wheels.

  • Drivers must stay on the track surface.

  • If a skid flips, you are done in the race (pull into a safe area).

  • The winner will be the driver who completes the given laps the fastest.

VEHICLE

  • Any and all cars that fit the general rules may run this event.

RULES

  • Drivers are required to run this event in reverse

  • Drivers must stay on the track surface.

  • If you spin out, you are only permitted to put the car in drive to get back on the track area.

  • The winner will be the driver who completes the given laps the fastest.

VEHICLE

  • Any and all cars that fit the general rules may run this event.

  • You can run racing tires in this event (Hoosiers).

  • Both cars must have a drivetrain.

  • The motor must still be in the pushed car.

RULES

  • Drivers are required to run this event pushing another driver around the track

  • Drivers must stay on the track surface.

  • The pushed cars engine needs to be off and remain off throughout the event

  • A team will be disqualified if the second car is running at any time through the race

  • The winning team will be the team whos push car completes the given laps the fastest

OPEN ENTRY FOR AUBURNDALE AND ORLANDO SPEEDWORLD ONLY

VEHICLE

School buses must measure 24 feet bumper to bumper to be eligible for entry.

  • Stock tires, specifically 10R20 or larger, must be equipped on the bus.

  • The motor must remain in its stock location, although motor swaps are permitted.

  • The battery can be relocated but must be securely tightened and fastened.

  • Radiators can be moved, but they must be covered to prevent fluid leakage from the compartment.

  • Chopping the bus roof/back is allowed.

  • In case of any shell modification, a full roll cage and back brace are mandatory to fully enclose the bus (no open-back buses allowed).

  • Racing belts must be installed for driver safety.

  • Drivers bringing their own bus to Florida will receive a starting bonus of $300.00, unless they win.

  • To qualify for payment, drivers must complete at least 6 racing laps during the event, starting at the end of the field.

  • Buses that have won a race in the same year must also start at the end of the field.

  • A windshield or a protective barrier across the front of the driver's area is required.

  • A driver's cage is highly recommended and required in chopped buses.

  • A racing seat is highly recommended for enhanced safety.

  • Large numbers must be displayed on the roof on both sides of the bus.

  • All doors on the bus must remain closed throughout the entire event.

  • Exhausts can be cut or headers can be added.

  • If running headers, Lexan or a windshield is necessary.

  • Rear welding is allowed.

RULES

  • Drivers are required to run this event with school buses.

  • Drivers must stay on the track surface unless avoiding contact.

  • The event will be held on the figure 8 track.

  • The figure 8 track has the larger chance for impact and contact.

  • The winner will be the driver who completes the given laps the fastest.
