FORD VS CHEVY PICKUP TRUCK DEMOLITION DERBY

“Most Petitions are for Pansies. Bring back the Mc. Rib? Build a Death Star? Change the name of "Fire Ants" to "Spicy boys"........Really? This one is a bit different. I am making a Petition to bring more trucks into the Night of Destruction event at Orlando Speedworld. What I want to know (and I think most people do) is end the debate on what the best type of truck is, a Ford or a Chevy. But piss off with the Motor Trend's reviews and what the hell is J.D. Power and who really are these associates? Let do this...... Lets get 5 Fords and 5 Chevys and just smash and crash them until one is left running. The battle of the brands, Truck wars.

LET'S DO A FORD VS. CHEVY DEMOLITION DERBY!

SIGN THIS PETITION IF YOU WANT TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN!”

WAS "AUTO POLO" THE ORIGINAL DEMOLITION DERBY?

People say Auto Polo might have been the original Demolition Derby. It rose to popularity in the U.S. during the early 1900s after it was created as a publicity stunt by a car salesman in an effort to drum up sales of the Ford Model T. As many as 5,000 spectators would assemble in an arena to watch players be flung from their vehicles at 40 mph while they tried to take possession of the ball. Coney Island and Madison Square Garden became popular host venues for the thrill seeking junkies.

$800,000 Worth of Damages in Dealership Demolition Derby

Four juveniles were arrested on January 6th 2019 by police in Houston, Texas after they allegedly broke into a car max dealership and caused over $800,000 worth of damage. The group of kids some how managed to steal the keys for the vehicles and used them to turn the parking lot into their own personal demolition derby, smashing and crashing the high-end cars into each other.

They destroyed over 20 cars including a Ford Mustang, a Porsche sports coupe and a Dodge Challenger. The dealership's security company called police after they saw the kids breaking in on surveillance cameras. The teens had left by the time cops arrived, but authorities set up a perimeter in the area and were able to track them down.  The suspects were arrested and taken to the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center in Texas where they are each facing charges of felony criminal mischief.

DEMOLITION DERBY RETURNS TO THE BIGGEST FAIRGROUND IN FLORIDA

aerial-1924-web(1).jpg

It all started in 1904. The American Flag only had 45 stars, Theodore Roosevelt was our president, and Florida was on an up swing. It was also the year that T.J. Laud-Brown (the manager of the Tampa Bay Hotel) came up with a great idea to drive traffic to the Tampa area. His plan was to bring the biggest fair in Florida to Tampa! He worked hard to convince the city founders and the rail line that they needed to bring the South Florida Fair to the grounds of the Tampa Bay Hotel.

The South Florida Fair Association was formed and plans for a new exhibition were proposed. That first Fair had simple attractions and was held in a single building on a 27-acre plot adjoining the Henry B. Plant’s Tampa Bay Hotel, where the University of Tampa stands today. This event soon was known as the Florida State Mid-Winter Festival and was the place to be! Families from near and far would come to the festival to play games, eat fair food and win bragging rights for their prized bull, best pie, or most beautiful quilt.

In 2019 the Florida State Fair is brings the “bragging rights” to a new level and thats no bull. It’s taking the fan favorite, smashing and crashing DEMOLITION DERBY and making it TWICE AS BIG! And who better to bring the destruction then Florida’s own “TOUR OF DESTRUCTION”. That’s right this time around with $1,000 to win on the line, with the winner getting real bragging rights.
